What is the Webformed Identity Service?

Posted on 20 February 2018

Webformed software has grown into a family of connected products.

To simplify our login process and offer a more consistent user experience across the range we have developed a unified authentication service. This means there is one service responsible for authenticating users across our entire software suite.

This service is known as the Webformed Identity Service and allows us to offer a more secure, robust and future proof product.

Using this Webformed Identity users will be able to log into any current authorised software as well as our new Identity Gateway to manage login credentials, update contact details and set up two factor authentication for an extra layer of security to give you peace of mind.

How to create a Webformed Identity?
Simple - if you are a user of a Webformed product then you will have a Webformed Identity! As soon as you are invited to use one of our systems an identity is created for you to verify. You will receive an email from us from which you can follow the link to confirm and setup your details. If you were a user before this time then you will have been migrated into the service.

Why do I need a Webformed Identity?
Any Webformed product from mid February 2018 requires one. If you didn't have one before, don't worry you will have been migrated in.

How to delete a Webformed Identity?
We are working on your data rights and will shortly enhance our Identity Gateway to put the power into your hands to exercise your right to be forgotten.

But be warned: you won’t be able to use certain Webformed services without an account, and you may not be able to restore it. So make sure you’re certain before pressing delete.

How to sign in to a Webformed Identity
You can head over to the Webformed Identity Gateway to manage your credentials:

https://identity.webformed.co.uk

Otherwise you can just sign into any Webformed product using your credentials as normal to login to those services. You should not notice any disruption in service. The only difference you may find is that your users will now manage their credentials for themselves.

How to change a password on a Webformed Identity?

Follow the forgotten password link from any login screen, enter your email address and you'll get instructions emailed to you. It's that simple!

Alternatively a system administrator can email you a forgotten password link to your primary system email and you can follow the instructions in the email you receive from the Webformed Identity Service.

What services can I use with my Webformed Identity?
Anything that Webformed offers and you have been invited into!
